With the rise of employment opportunities using the computer and the Internet, there are many ways of earning big bucks even without holding down a stable day job. Among these popular choices among young adults today are data entry jobs.

The beauty of data entry jobs is that they generally do not require you to report online to your boss a specific number of hours a day, as long as you could submit the daily requirement. This means you can even take on more than one job at a time, although of course, there are some criteria that you would find helpful to check before you decide to apply for another job:

  1. Would you consider yourself a fast worker compared to the average? If you do then you have a good chance of succeeding with more than one data entry job. If you are only average, it might prove to be too stressful to take on another job. Weigh your options carefully.
  2. If you are only average in terms of using the computer, it might be best to ask yourself if you are willing to spend double the number of hours. If you are single and have plenty of free time, you might find it a good opportunity, but if you are not willing to spend more hours, it would be best to stick with only one job to give yourself fully to.
  3. Does your employer require you to work a minimum number of hours a day? If one of them does, check to make sure you can indeed spare that much time. If you are already used to staying up late, it might not be too much of a problem, but if you are not accustomed to full schedules, the adjustment itself might already prove taxing enough for you.
  4. Do you have good time management skills? Having any online job already requires you to be a person of initiative, as there will be nobody to check on you every hour except yourself, but it is even more crucial when you have more than one job. This is because, if you are late in one deadline, it means you are failing one employer, but if you have two jobs, you might also be failing in duplicate!
  5. Do you usually finish your work for one employer with some time to spare before the deadline? If you already find yourself cramming to reach one deadline, or even find yourself not being able to make deadlines once in a while, getting another data entry job is not for you.

These simple questions should give you a more solid idea if you are cut out to have more than one data entry job. Even if you have the need, you should not sacrifice quality for your desire to earn more if you really do not have it in you. Just be honest with yourself, or else you will risk disappointing not just one, but two, employers, and in the end you may wind up with none.
